EFM Plug-in modem

PRODUCT DETAIL

High throughput, high flexibility and advanced functionality make the Watson EFM plug-in modem the right choice for demanding Ethernet applications. Designed for CarrierEthernet over Copper (MEF), Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), and Mobile Backhaul applications, it’s a highly convenient and cost effective substitute where no fiber is available. With the advanced DSL linecode G. SHDSL.bis, and Operation Administration and Maintenance functions (OAM), the Watson EFM modems deliver symmetrical data rates of up to 1 5.3Mbit/s per copper pair. Sophisticated synchronization options enable precision clock transmission to Mobile Basestations. Built-in pair bonding gives aggregate service rates up to 122.4 Mbit/s per customer. The modems have built-in VLAN and Class of Service (QoS, CoS) functions for traffic management and differentiated services.
The Watson EFM plug-in card is designed for rackbased installations. The plug-in has the same form factor as Schmid’s other Watson modems and fits into the same subracks. Watson EFM plug-ins can
share subracks with other Watson modems for immediate rollout of Ethernet services from already existing points of presence currently used for E1 services only. The Watson EFM plug-in is interoperable with standard based EFM solutions from other vendors.
Management of the Watson EFM plug-in is fully SNMP compatible and uses standardized Management Information Bases (MIBs). Performance, flexibility and reliability make the Watson Ethernet plug-in modem an important part of your transition from a legacy TDM-based to a next generation packet-based network. All backed by Swiss quality and by worldwide service and support.
